Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Georgia, 66 of Sparta, will be held Friday August 23 in the Lake Julian Chapel of Groce Funeral Home in Arden, NC with Rev. David Moore and Bro Kenneth Williams officiating. Mrs. Georgia's family will receive friends Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Georgia died Monday afternoon August 19, 2012 in Life Care of Sparta. She was a native of Buncombe County, NC and the daughter of the late Charles and Estelle Thorpe Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Moore. Survivors include her husband, David Georgia of Sparta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Kenneth Williams of Edmonton, KY and Jennifer and Patrick Green of Fairview, NC; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Allen and Stacy Sexton of Ashville, NC, Charles and Amy Sexton of Talladega, AL, and Brian Sexton of Ashville; twelve grand children, eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Judy McCrary of Etowah, NC; two brothers, Rev. David Moore of Woodfin, NC and Bill Moore of Bradenton, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 753A Humble Drive Cookeville, TN 38501.
