Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Lee Phipps, 81 of Cookeville, will be held at 1pm Monday, March 17 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Allen Morris officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. In addition, graveside services and interment will be held Wednesday, March 19 at 10 a.m. at the Bement Township Cemetery in Bement, IL with Rev. E. Paul Unger officiating. Mrs. Phipps passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born November 2, 1932 in Decatur, IL to the late Merle and Veda Corrine Kerchner Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Anderson. Mrs. Phipps attended First Christian Church in Cookeville. She was retired from the payroll department at ADM in Decatur, IL. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Iuka, IL and later settled in Baxter, TN in 2008. She enjoyed herb gardening, making baskets and playing golf. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward Phipps of Cookeville (whom she married July 1, 1950 in Hammond, IL); son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Annette Phipps of Elizabethtown, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Gary Yockers of Baxter; two granddaughters, Tami Green (husband Michael) of Brookport, IL and Ashlee Reznicsek (husband Adam) of Redmond, OR; grandson, Josh Phipps (wife Lena) of Elizabethtown, IL; and great-grandson, Tyson Reznicsek. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Foundation, One Medical Center Boulevard, Cookeville, TN 38501.
