Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Wilmoth Shirley, age 69, of Algood, will be held Wednesday, November 4th at 11am in the Algood Family Event Center. Pastor Shane Bowling will officiate. Burial will follow at Saylors Cemetery in White County. Mrs. Shirley's family will receive friends Wednesday from 9am until service time at the Algood Family Event Center. Mrs. Shirley died Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born September 15, 1946 in Cookeville to the late Herman Doyle and Willie ‘Cledith' Bennett Wilmoth. She was a 1969 graduate of Cookeville High School. She lived in Florida for a few years and worked as a housecleaner before returning to Cookeville. She also worked as a cleaner at Walmart. She has fearlessly battled cancer for the last five years. She was a longtime member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her sister, Emma Wilmoth; brothers, Jack Wilmoth and David Wilmoth; and by a special friend and neighbor, Betty Reed, all of Algood. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
