Baskel Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Baskel M. Jones, 80, of Algood will be held Wednesday, June 20 at 1 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Young, Rev. Jim Malone and Vernon Neal officiating. Entombment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Wednesday 11:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Jones died Sunday morning, June 17, 2012 at his home. He was born July 22, 1931 in Overton County, TN to the late John Sanford and Sharilda Clemintine Stamps Jones. Mr. Jones was a charter member at Midway Baptist Church where he served as deacon for 29 years. He worked at Acme Boot Co. with 35 years of service and retired from Algood School with 20 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Glemma Jones Blair and two brothers, Hollis Jones and Delbert Jones. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Huddleston Jones of Algood (whom he married November 25, 1953 in Rossville, GA); two sons and a daughter-in-law, Johnny and Cathy Jones of Algood and James "Jimmy"� Jones of Franklin, TN; one grandson, Jeremy Jones and wife Emily of Cookeville; two great grandchildren, Jackson Paul Jones and Addison Lynn Jones. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
