Berta Naugle

Funeral services for Berta Jo Naugle, age 70 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Monday January 3 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Shane Warren will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until service time. Berta passed away Wednesday December 29, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born August 19, 1951 in Crossville, TN to the late O.S. Rainwater and Imogene Martin Rainwater. Berta was so loved and so easy to love. She had a servant's heart and enjoyed outreach ministry as a former volunteer at Trinity Assembly Church. She retired from the Transportation Department for the Putnam County School System where she passionately enjoyed working with special needs students. She enjoyed camping, cooking, and most importantly spending time with her family. Berta was also a proud breast cancer survivor. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bill Naugle, whom she married June 29, 1990; daughters, Shannon Perniciaro Henry (husband, Jeremy), Haley Perniciaro both of Cookeville, Leigh Anne Perniciaro Henry (husband, Sinclair) of Mt. Juliet; step-sons, Greg Naugle (wife, Kerie) of Santa Maria, CA, Scott Naugle of Baltimore, MD, and Chris Naugle of South Pittsburg, TN; brother, Scotty Rainwater (wife, Barbara) of Calhoun, GA; 17 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a host of nieces; and a tribe of special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gail Byrge and Vanessa Brady.
