Graveside services and interment for Betty C. Smith, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 5, at Rocky Point Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Floyd officiating. Mrs. Smith died Wednesday September 1, 2021 at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. She was born February 1, 1939 in Putnam County, TN, to the late Forrest and Sallie Margie Smith. Betty attended Poplar Grove school in Putnam County . She was employed with Durion/Stillman for many years and attended the Hope in Christ Church in Livingston. She was married to Arlis Glenn Smith for over 50 years before his passing on March 28, 2012. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son and his wife, Donnie Glenn "Bubba" and Glenda Sue Smith; sisters, Wilma Jean Franklin and Evelyn Sue Belen; and twin brothers, Bobby Leo Smith and Harold Ray Smith. She is survived by a son, Arlis Smith of Monterey; grandchildren, Jerry Glenn Smith of Murfreesboro, Brittany Jade Smith and Jonathan Wade Smith both of Putnam County; and brothers, Donnie (Dalphine) Smith and Clarence (Lucy) Smith.
