Funeral services for Mr. William "Bill"� Lloyd Gill, 85 of Cookeville will be held Wednesday July 27 at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Jared Cemetery in the Buffalo Valley Community. Pastor Mike Campbell and Pastor Jim Moore will officiate. Mr. Gill died Sunday evening July 24, 201l in Masters Health Care Center in Algood. He was born October 6, 1925 in the Wolf Creek Community of Dekalb County to the late James Napoleon and Ida Samatha Atnip Gill. At 18 he was drafted into the US Navy where he served until the end of WWII in Hawaii. After the war he was employed by the US Postal Service until he retired in 1972. He was a Putnam County Real Estate Broker of Gill Realty, and member of Trinity Assembly Church in Algood, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Molly Slagle, four brothers, Uel Gill, Alf Gill, Lee Gill, Floyd Gill and one sister Geda Gill Craig. Mr. Gill is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Jared Gill (whom he married September 1, 1951 in Buffalo Valley), two sons and a daughters-in-law, Mark and Mona Gill, Alf and Margaret Beth Gill, two daughters and son-in-law, Peggy and Ronnie Slagle and Mary Neil Caneer, fourteen grandchildren, Marcus Gill, Katie Gill, Jenny Gill, Joseph Gill, Joanna Slagle, Jeff (Stephanie) Slagle, Rod (Teresa) Slagle, Carrie (Mike)Hurst, Samantha Caneer, Samuel Caneer, Emily Gill, Laura Gill, James Gill and John Gill, five great grandchildren, Tyler and Wyatt Slagle, Cassi Slagle, Riley and Reagan Hurst, two sisters, Dimple Holland of Tuscumbia, AL; and Clara Jared of Buffalo Valley, TN. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
