Funeral services for James Willard "Bill"� Ramsey, 90, of Cookeville will be held Sunday, November 11 at 3 p.m. at Holladay Church of Christ with Bro. Johnny Fox and Bro. Arlon Way officiating. Interment will follow in Cooke Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 5 to 8 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Ramsey died Friday morning, November 9, 2012 at Cookeville Cedar Hills Senior Living Community. He was born September 1, 1922 in Putnam County, TN to the late Jesse Winfield and Lona Lousettie "Settie"� Chaffin Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey was a member of Holladay Church of Christ where he served as elder for 25 years. He was a retired mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie "Kate"� Ramsey, son-in-law, John Melton, brothers, Dent Ramsey, Othel Ramsey, Asberry Ramsey and Oscar Ramsey; sisters, Ofield Ramsey and Edna Hickey. Mr. Ramsey is survived by a daughter, Carol Melton of Johnson City, TN and a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Barbara Ramsey of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Ashley Melton (David) Blevins of Birmingham, AL, Dr Casey (Amy) Melton of Mobile, AL, and Scotty Melton of Montgomery, AL; eight great grandchildren, Kayla Melton, Laney Melton, Caroline Melton, Tucker Melton, Cooper Blevins, Chapman Blevins, Collier Blevins and Crawford Blevins; three sisters-in-law, Dora Mae Malone, Shirley & husband Damon Cannon, Myrtle Ramsey, and a brother-in-law, Howard Eller all of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be Casey Melton, Scotty Melton, David Blevins, Damon Cannon, Howard Eller, Junior Sherrill and Carl Alred. The family wants to give a heartfelt thank you to special friends and caregivers who loved, supported and carried "Daddy"� to the end of his earthly journey: Tonya Breeding, Carolyn Mayberry, Lori Usrey, Deb Durham, Shelia Wilson, Tammy King, Michelle Johnfroe, and Dottie Cook and to the staff at Cedar Hills Senior Living Community.
