Funeral services for Mrs. Billie (Bette) Jewel Key Carey, 71, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 pm on Friday, June 15, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 "� 8 pm and again Friday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Carey died Monday, June 11, 2012 at her residence in Cookeville. She was born March 7, 1941 in Overton County, TN to the late Casto Elbert and Bessie Looper Key. Mrs. Carey was of the Baptist Faith. She was a former respiratory therapist and apartment manager. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death a sister, Vergie Key; and four brothers, Willie Beecher Key, Harman Key, Plez Kermit Key and Doyle Edward Key. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Tim Blaylock, Terry Blaylock, Greg Blaylock and wife Sue, all of Crossville; special friend, Bob Sealy of Cookeville; brother, Elbert Jr. Key; of Alexandria, IN; five grandchildren, Matassa Blaylock Riley, Brandi Blaylock Lefebvre and husband Butch, Heath Blaylock, Tyler Blaylock and Alison Blaylock; and five great-grandchildren. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Fund at CRMC Foundation, One Medical Center Boulevard, Cookeville, TN 38501.
