Billy Joe Brogdon

Funeral services for Billy Joe Howard Brogdon, 85 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, August 20 at 1 PM at in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will recieve friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Brogdon died Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. He was born March 22, 1935 in Cookeville to the late Robert Burk Brogdon and Margie Avo Taylor Brogdon. He was a Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and served later in the National Guard. He was a member of Holladay Church of Christ. Billy retired in 1995 as a Firefighter with the City of Cookeville with 32 years of service. He is survived by wife of 64 years (married August 7, 1956), Phyllis Artha Pickens Brogdon of Cookeville; cousins: Lisa Fenker, Carol Ridings, Connie Kauletta, Michael, Dwane, Mark, Robert, Ricky and Jimmy Taylor. Cookeville city firemen will serve as pallbearers. Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be observed. Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931)526-7158.
