Billy Joe Burgess

Billy Joe Burgess, age 73 of Cookeville, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at NHC of Cookeville. The family has chosen cremation, and a memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Helen’s Restaurant on Hwy. 56 in Gainesboro. Helen and Bill would like to encourage all Billy Joe’s friends and family to please attend. Billy was born October 18, 1939 in Putnam County TN to the late Sherman Burgess and Mary Vinson Burgess. Even though Mr. Burgess had many trades that he was very good at, he was known as an excellent plumber. Mr. Burgess is survived by one son, Billy Joe Burgess Jr. (wife Rhonda) of Cookeville and two grandchildren; Billy Joe Burgess III and Lindsey Burgess, both also of Cookeville. In addition Billy is also survived by one very special cousin, Helen Bellar of Gainesboro as well as many more cousins, and one aunt, Vera Vinson Cumby of Cookeville as well as lots of friends and family.
