Billy Joe Gentry

Graveside services and interment for Billy Joe (Red Eye) Gentry, age 78 of Cookeville, will be at 12 noon Thursday, November 12 at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate. Billy Joe passed away Monday evening November 9, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. He was born March 3, 1942 in Wayne County, MI to the late Flavil and Lena Roberts Gentry. Billy Joe loved his family and was an avid county music dancer. He is survived by son, Joey Gentry; daughters, Lisa (Jay) Grissom and Jennifer Wilson; brothers, Johnny (Elega) Gentry, Don (Janette) Gentry, and Tim Franklin, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Ethan Grissom, and Mindy Wilson; great-grandchildren, Aliza Kelly, Landon Wilson, and Milo Ferguson; and special friend, Beth Meadows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Gentry; sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Franklin, and Marilyn Turner; and grandson, Chris Wilson.
