Bob Hayward

A Celebration of Life for Robert (Bob) Lloyd Hayward, 94 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, January 17 at 7 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Whitson will officiate and veteran honors will be presented by the Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Hayward's family will receive friends Friday from 5 pm until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Hayward died Wednesday evening January 8, 2014 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born September 12, 1919 in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada to the late Lloyd Stanley and Violet Evelyn Hayward. Mr. Hayward was a US Army veteran of WWII having served in the South Pacific. He was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an entrepreneur. He owned and operated several businesses including greenhouses until his retirement. He loved archery and was a skilled hunter and fisherman. His hunting expeditions included bear hunts in Alaska. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty Ketchum Hayward of Cookeville (whom he married July 31, 1981 in New Port Richey, FL); two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert E. Hayward of New Port Richey, FL, Stephen and Tonya Oaks of ME; two daughters and son-in-law, Connie and Donald Morris of Romulus, MI, Lori Hayen of Rochester Hills, MI; seven grandchildren, David Fudge of Marysville, WA, Eric Morris of Romulus, MI, Kristin Gross (husband Calvin) of Rochester, MI, Janelle Hayward of Tampa, FL, Amber Hayward of Clearwater, FL, and Oliva and Evan Hayen both of Rochester Hills, MI; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Zach Gross.
