Brandon Hood

Funeral services for Mr. John 'Brandon' Hood, age 41 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, August 12th at 11:00 a.m. from the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Paul Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Black Oak Cemetery in Sparta. His family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday from 9:00 a.m until service time at the funeral home. Social distance measures and precautions will be in place. Mr. Hood died Thursday, August 6, 2020. He was born August 20, 1978 in Cookeville to Sarena (Steve) Flowers of Cookeville and the late John William Hood. He was a graduate of Cookeville High School and attended Vocational School in Livingston. Brandon had a fun, friendly and generous nature. He was a gifted guitar player and loved hunting. He loved kids and cherished his daughter most of all. He was a special person and he will be dearly missed. In addition to his father, Brandon was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Stanley and Ruby Hood, and maternal grandmother, Belvia Hassler. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Izabella Hood; sisters, Monica (Willie) Cason, of Sparta and Sherry (Scott) Lytal of Cookeville; maternal grandmother, Rema Garrett; aunts, Donna (Danny) Smith and Clara (Tom) Davis; uncle, Lloyd (Amie) Garrett; special friend, Charlie Lane; and by stepmother, June Hood of Cookeville.
