Brenda Nash

Memorial services for Brenda Gail Nash, age 73 of Cookeville, will be at 5 p.m. Saturday February 19 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Elmore Judd will officiate. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 3 p.m. until service time. Brenda passed away Tuesday February 15, 2022 at her home. She was born October 29, 1948 in Sparta, TN to the late Ray Austin and Reba Bumbalough Austin. Brenda recently retired from the Putnam County Highway Department after 30 years of service. She was selfless, loved her family dearly, and never met a stranger. She enjoyed tending her flowers and cooking for others. She is survived by her son, Joel Bryan (Sonja) Nash; daughter, Ann (Bob) Crabtree, all of Cookeville; sisters, Bettye Sue Austin of Cookeville, Linda (Bruce) Moorehead of Sparta, Joyce (David) Whiteaker of Cookeville, Wanda Minnear of Cookeville and Kathleen Sparks of Cookeville; brothers, John (Shirley) Austin of Cookeville and Robert (Donna) Austin of Sparta; grandchildren, Coty Nash, Joseph Smith, Brandi Nash, Sarah (Joey) Hawn, Kaley Crabtree, and Coleman Nash; great granddaughter, Jordyn Hawn; and a host of extended family and special friends. Members of the Putnam County Highway Department will be honorary pallbearers.
