Carl Ledford

Funeral services for Mr. Carlos Voyd Ledford, age 84, of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday June 26 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmie Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 11 a.m. until service time. Mr. Ledford peacefully passed away Sunday morning June 24, 2018 at his home. He was born October 9, 1933 in Overton County, TN to the late Ray and Beulah Newberry Ledford. Mr. Ledford was retired from Michigan Carton Company in Battle Creek, MI with over 47 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, maintaining a spotless automobile and immaculate lawn, and tending a garden. He and his wife Mary are members of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Langford Ledford, who he married January 29, 1953 in Cookeville; two daughters, Patricia (John) Glass of Morris Plains, NJ, and Sandra Magnuson of Cookeville; sister, Nella Rae (Floyd) Bilbrey of Crossville; two grandchildren, Meredith Hutchings and Blake Magnuson of Cookeville; and great-grandchild, Tyler Magnuson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Ledford. Pallbearers will be Michael Langley, Michael Ray, David and Darrel Bilbrey, Derrill Kern, and Donnie Tays.
