Funeral services for Mr. Carlos D. Howell, age 91 of Cookeville, will be held Monday, October 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Interment with Military Honors rendered by the Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Boiling Springs Cemetery. Rev. Charles Allen will officiate. His family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home and again Monday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distancing measures will be in place. Mr. Howell died Friday morning, October 2nd at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 25, 1928 in Putnam County, TN to the late Orville and Bertha Cunningham Howell. He was raised and attended school in White County. He served his country in the United States Army. Carlos displayed a strong work ethic throughout his life that continued until recent weeks. He worked laying tile and flooring and enjoyed working on his cattle raising cattle and bush hogging on his farm. He was a long time member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Orville Howell, Jr. He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Dimple Allison Howell; son, Kelvin Douglas Howell, of Cookeville; sister in law, Opal Howell; niece, Katina Kennedy; and nephew, Rick Howell. Larry Allison, Carlen Hargis, Mike Hargis, Herbert Allison, Rick Howell, Keith Harmon, Brandon Dildine and Michael Vinson will serve as pallbearers. Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
