Cecil Gentry

Graveside services and interment with military honors for Cecil Edwin Gentry, age 82 of Cookeville, were held at 3 p.m. Friday January 29 at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Johnny Fox officiated. Social distancing and the use of masks was observed. Cecil passed away from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident in Overton County, TN on Monday January 25, 2021. He was born December 14, 1938 in Jackson County, TN to the late Doliver and Emily Gentry. Cecil was US Army veteran and a retired carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma Swallows Gentry; sons, Thomas (Jackie) Gentry of Cookeville, Greg Gentry of Fredericksburg, VA, Aaron Gentry of Rickman, and Bryn Gentry of Livingston; sister, Freida Pinkston of Cookeville; grandchildren, Emily Smith, Ella Gentry, Jesse Gentry, Allison Gentry, Austin Gentry, Wade Gentry, Abby Gentry, Devin (Samantha) Gentry, and Cody Gentry; and great-grandchildren, Paizley, Lucas, Corbin, and Tatum Gentry In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Gillis, Dalton, Tommy, and Danny Gentry.
