Funeral services for Mr. Charles Hill Verble, age 94, of Algood, will be held Monday February 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Algood Family Event Center. Rev. Jim Rogers will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the Paran Cemetery. His family will receive friends Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Verble passed away Thursday February 13, 2020. He was born November 13, 1925 in Putnam County, TN to the late Charlie Lee and Bessie Gertrude Williams Verble. Mr. Verble was a member of Paran Church. He was a World War II veteran having served in the US Army. Mr. Verble was a retired inspector with the TN Highway Department (TDOT). He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Frances Buck Verble; daughter, Sandra Ward (husband, Justice) of Cookeville; two sons, Bruce Verble (wife, Sarah) of Redondo Beach, CA, Jeff Verble (wife, Trudie) of Antioch, TN; grandchildren, Stacy Whited (husband, Charlie), Jason Ward, Stephanie Verble, Carly Verble, Brittany Verble, and Chris Verble; great grandchildren, Ben and Aaron Whited; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Adas Verble; and eight sisters, Linnie Dell Roberson, Anna Bell Nunnally, Mattie Lee White, Lena Pearl Phillips, Pauline Pinkley, Eunetta Steele, Betty Sue Brown, and Virginia Ruth Verble. Pallbearers will be friends and family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Paran Cemetery Fund. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111.
