Funeral services with military honors for Mr. Claudy Lewis Mullins, 84, of Algood, will be held at 11 am Thursday, February 14, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Farris and Rev. Charles Cook, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 "� 8 pm and again Thursday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Mullins died February 10, 2013 in Algood at his home. He was born April 12, 1928 in Clintwood, VA to the late Ernest and Orpha Yates Mullins. Mr. Mullins enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age fifteen. He served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a member of Cookeville Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Mullins was retired from GM in Detroit, MI with over 30 years of service. He also was employed at Belmont Industries in Detroit. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Ronald Willbanks, Jim Mullins, and Everitt Mullins; six sisters, Edith Branham, Loyce Mullins, Sue Rose, Ernestine Vandell, Becky Vandell, and Ivey Mullins. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Betty Riggs Daniel Mullins, of Algood (whom he married April 28, 1990 in Troy, MI); two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Kathy Daniel of Romeo, MI, Ken and Vila Daniel of Caledonia, MI; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Dick Tarpinian of Phoenix, AZ, Betty and Pete Taucher of Troy, MI, Carolyn and Buddy Lemaster of Nashville, TN; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Bonnie Mullins of Crossville, TN, Billy and Trula Mullins of Clintwood, VA, Bobby and Shirley Mullins of Belleville, MI, Scott and Shannon Mullins of Belleville, MI, Steve and Ann Mullins of Belleville, MI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mr. Mullins grandsons, Jeff Daniel, Joshua Daniel, Jonathan Daniel, and Steve Hasty. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School class of Cookeville Free Will Baptist Church.
