The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Monday. And again on Tuesday from 9 a.m. - until time of service. Mr. Clifford Deweese went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2012 at his home in Baxter, TN, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 1, 1954, in Putnam County to the late William Lonnie and Nancy Ann Bryson Deweese. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Glenda Irene Cannon Deweese and side kick Tido (his dog) and two children, April (Ron) Jestes and Greg (Nikki) Deweese both of Cookeville, Tennessee. One granddaughter, Katelyn Jestes. Two brothers, Haywood Deweese of Cookeville and Walter Deweese of Baxter. Three sisters, Betty Hickey, Vella (Donald) Sullivan, and Linda (Hubert) Allison all of Baxter, Tennessee. Sisters in law, Rose Mary Deweese, Sue (Troy) Smith of Baxter and Brenda Cannon of Gainesboro, TN. Brothers in law, Roy (Rachel Louise) Cannon of Cookeville and Calvin (Treva) Cannon of Baxter, TN. As well as, several neices and nephews. And, his Mother in law, Ms. Jewell Cannon, who has been a faithful caregiver along side his wife, during these last several years. Clifford has been a hard worker for many years and as of recent years, retired from Nash's Dairy in Baxter, Tennessee, where he was employed for 30+ years. He enjoyed being busy, wrether it was mowing his lawn (if it needed it or not) or planting a garden, even when in later years he could not even enjoy the harvest of his labor. He just loved being outside. He loved his family and loved spending time giving rides on the lawn mower to every kid that came around! He married Glenda on Sept 13, 1990, and they have had many laughs together through the years. Although he has fought cancer for almost 8 years, Clifford has never been as happy as he was the last 5 months of his life. He experienced a miracle from the Lord in Feb of this year and God has done so many things to make his trial so much easier to bear. It is truly a loss for us to let Clifford go, but Heaven is gaining another angel today! Thank God for being so good and so faithful. He is our ever present help in time of trouble, and our comfort in times of sorrow. A note of Special thanks to the following: Ms Jewell Cannon (Mom) for being so strong for us all and staying with us from the begining. Michael & Rachel DeVillanueva, Rose Mary Deweese, Sue Smith, Little Sherry Goff, Sue Ellen Jones, Sunshine Dunn, Charlene West, Margo Phillips, Jayce Young, Rock Castle Emmanuel Church Family, Avalon Hospice Care of Cookeville, Colonal View Baptist Church (Prayer Group), First Methodist Church (Fran Fritz & the gang), Dyer Funeral Home Staff and all the many friends and family who have been with us through it all. Thank you to the community for supporting and giving in the benefit for Clifford that was held at Twin Oak. Thank you all. We love and appreciate you and could never say thank you enough for all that has been done for us. Bro Fabron Nicholson, Bro Ron Phillips and Bro Roy Cannon will officiate at the services.
