Clifton Lambert

November 29, 1944 — July 11, 2024

DYER CHAPEL-Roy Clifton Lambert, known affectionately as Clifton by friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, in Birmingham, AL, at the age of 79. Born on November 29, 1944, in Overton County, TN, to the late Elmer and Geneva Honeycutt Lambert, Clifton was a man whose kindness and patriotic spirit touched the lives of many.

Clifton's early life in Tennessee set a foundation of strong family ties and community involvement, which he carried throughout his life. After proudly serving his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Germany, Clifton returned to civilian life with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication to his community.

He found love and companionship with his beloved wife, Janie Lambert, who predeceased him. Clifton also faced the loss of his sister, Janice Walker, but found solace in the presence and support of his surviving family. He played a pivotal role in the lives of his stepson, John (Mary) Tibbals of Mystic, CT, and his cherished grandchildren, Ashley Bickel, Sophie Tibbals, Anna Tibbals, and Lily Tibbals. His sister, Delean Lafever of Cookeville, remained a significant part of his life, as did his nieces and nephews, Lisa (Rick) Lisi, James (Jamie) Lafever, Melissa Dorsey, Greg (Judy) Lambert, and Margie (Damian)Western, along with his special grand nieces and nephew, Lydia Dorsey, Jaylan Lafever, Izzy Lambert, Harley Lambert, Addie Carlile, and Everette Carlile; special aunt, Melissa Hall of Anderson, IN.

Clifton's commitment to community service continued as he became a dedicated employee of the City of Pelham, AL, where he worked for over two decades. His contributions to the city were immeasurable and his work ethic was unmatched. His colleagues knew him as a reliable and hardworking individual who brought not only his skills but also his heart to every project.

A devout member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Pelham, AL, Clifton's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He lived his beliefs through his actions, consistently demonstrating the love and grace that he found in his religion. Clifton's involvement in the church community was a testament to his desire to serve and inspire others.

Those who knew Clifton will remember him as the good neighbor who was always there to lend a helping hand. His caring nature extended beyond his immediate circle as he genuinely enjoyed helping others in any way he could. Clifton's role as a patriot was not just a title from his military days but a lifelong identity that he embodied through his love for his country and his fellow Americans.

Above all, Clifton will be remembered for the warmth he brought to every room and the unconditional love he had for his family. His legacy is one of compassion, service, and love-a beacon for all who knew him. Clifton's memory will continue to shine bright in the hearts of his loved ones and the many lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 1 PM in the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in Lafever Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 PM and again Saturday 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.
