A celebration of life service for Mr. Curtis Raymond Cooper, age 60 of Algood, will be held Monday, July 11, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Stevens Street Baptist Church. Dr. Jimmy Arms and Rev. Roger Cooper will officiate. Curt's family will receive friends Monday from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Curt passed away Friday morning, July 8, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 19, 1961 in Highland Park, MI to the late Rev. Charles and Maude Wilson Cooper. Curt owned and operated C&C Lawn Care in Cookeville for many years. In prior years, he worked as a skilled carpenter and worked at Stevens Street Baptist Church in maintenance. Curt had a wonderful sense of humor and was ready and eager to share a joke. His infectious belly laughs will always be remembered. He enjoyed time spent outdoors fishing and was a fan of the (World Champion) Atlanta Braves. His friendly, kind hearted, selfless and fun nature was best displayed as Curt played Santa Claus in the Christmas season for many years at countless events throughout the Upper Cumberland. In addition to his parents, Curt was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Cooper. Curt is survived by his adoring family whom he loved fiercely, his wife of 18 years, Kim Burroughs Cooper; sons, Curtis and Stephanie Cooper, of Knoxville and Cody and Ashley Cooper, of Maryville; daughters, Amanda Payne (Chad Jernigan), of Manchester, Bethany and Ben Beasley, of Cookeville and Chelsey and Michael Odum, of Hendersonville; 13 grandchildren who dearly loved their "Santa Pa"-Eli, Brayden, Brody, Catelee, Abigail, Dominic, Talia, Cooper, Elizabeth, Layna, Alibeth, Malcolm and Evie; brothers, Roger and Inis Cooper, of Cookeville and Greg and Sue Cooper, of Madison Heights, MI; sister, Joan and Steve Brown, of Rickman; and by his dogs that he loved so much.
