Funeral Services for Curtis T Swafford, age 81, of Baxter will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27th, 2011 from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Nash Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 26th from 5 till 9 P.M. at the funeral home. Curtis died Friday March 25th, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 8th, 1930 in Henderson County, TN to the late Tennie Mae Swafford Mealer. He was a member of the Ozion Freewill Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and loved to preserve fruits and vegetables. He served in the U.S. Navy and the Naval Reserves.. Mr. Curtis is survived by his son Russell (Vicky) Swafford of Cookeville, three sisters Mary Ruff, Rachel Archie and Doris Mckinney all of West TN, one brother, Morris Mealer of Alabama. He is also survived by seven sisters-in-law, Ima Rhoton, Lorene Trobaugh and Evelyn Randolph and Betty Nash all of Baxter, Ann Western of Cookeville and Ruby LaFever of Crossville and Adell Allison of McMinnville TN. Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, his wife Martha Nash Swafford, and an infant son, Curtis Duke, four brothers, Bill, Ray, Junior and Charlie Mealer of West TN and a sister Lydia Moon of West TN. Pallbearers will be his nephews Bro. Harold Robinson will be conducting the services
