Funeral services for Mr. Daniel "Dan" Phillip Day, age 60, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Jimmy Arms and Donnie Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Dan passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born March 12, 1956 in Anderson, IN to the late Russell and Imogene Danner Day. He was a member of Life Church in Cookeville and a former member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. Dan was retired from Tennessee Tech University with over 20 years of service in mechanical systems. He was a member of the Crossville Model Railroad Club, and he maintained the model train at Spring Street Market. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cindy Brown Day (whom he married April 18, 1986 in Cookeville); three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Day of Baltimore, MD, Aaron and Angela Day of Anderson, IN, Tad and Amber Phillips of Cookeville; daughter and son-in-law, Danieal and Brandon Hess of Cookeville; brother, Donald Day of Anderson, IN; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Kevin Malone; nine grandchildren, Isaac, Anna, Emma, Logan Day; Jordan, Charlee, Logan Phillips; Beaman and Keleah Hess. Tim Hartley, Scott Arnold, Jimmy Murphy, Mike Breeding, Wyman Williams, and Jared Cravens will serve as pallbearers Memorial contributions may be made to Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic, 694 S.
