A Celebration of Life for David Russell Adams, age 70, of Cookeville will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at Stevens Street Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Frank officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 - 5 p.m. at the church. David passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was born January 22, 1947 in Memphis, TN to the late James Allen and Ruth McKnight Adams. David was retired from the City of Cookeville Department of Leisure Services. He was a faithful member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. David loved his family to the fullest, choosing to spend time with his wife, kids, and grandkids over other activities and hobbies. He was a gracious host, welcoming to strangers, and an excellent family chef. Most importantly he loved his Lord. David was quick to share about his faith in Jesus with others. David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Faye Savage Adams who he married December 14, 1975 in Livingston, TN; son and daughter-in-law, David and Janine Adams of Bloomington Springs; two daughters and son-in-law, Sabrina and Greg Perlongo and Amber Adams, all of Cookeville; seven grandchildren, Tamra Payne, Daniel Perlongo, Joseph Perlongo, Nina (Daniel) Paul, Bryan (Madelyn) Harris, Tiffany (Chris) Reed, Megan Adams; great-grandchildren, Dominic Payne, DJ, David and Leeah Paul, Jaxson McElvain, Aayden Harris, and Jaidon Reed; and son-in-law, Jason Payne.
