David Mutchmore

A visitation for David F. Mutchmore, 59 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 3 to 5 pm at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Mutchmore died Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His wishes of cremation are being honored. He was born April 12, 1962 in Royal Oak, MI to Barbara Page Mutchmore of Cookeville and the late O. L. "DOC" Mutchmore. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kent Mutchmore. He graduated from Milligan College with a Master's degree in education. David and his family moved to Cookeville in 2007. He began work with the State of Tennessee as a Social Counselor in January of 2008. David enjoyed baseball, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially his son. Survivors in addition to his mother include wife of 26 years (Married May 6, 1994) Melinda Barker Mutchmore, son MacKinley "Mack" Mutchmore both of Cookeville, brother Jeff (Connie) Mutchmore of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David's honor to TTU Foundation, c/o Tech Engineering for Kids, P.O. Box 1915, Cookeville, TN 38505. Through David's work with the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS), he worked closely with the Tech Engineering for Kids program to develop specialized chairs, equipment and toys for children aged birth-3 years who have disabilities or other developmental delays.
