Funeral services for Mrs. Dimple F.O. Apple Dial, 86, of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, August 22 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Morgan Pippin Cemetery. Rev. Max Mayo and Rev. Drew Shelley will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Dial passed away peacefully Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville, TN. She was born August 19, 1925 in Putnam County, TN to the late Charlie Brooks and Beulah Frances Buck Apple. Ms. Dial was the devoted wife of the late Earl Dial for 55 years, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. Ms. Dial was a teacher in Putnam County Schools for 29+ years. She taught at Bangham School, Algood High School, Monterey High School and Cookeville Junior High School, served as a home bound teacher in Putnam County and continued to tutor students long after retirement. Ms. Dial lived her faith through example and service to others. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Chapel Class, and the Ladies Prayer Circle. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6296, serving as secretary for several years and working with the Voice of Democracy Scholarship program and various patriotic functions of the VFW. She was also a member of the National Education Association, Tennessee Education Association, and the Tennessee Retired Teachers Association. Her influence on her family, church family, friends, students and fellow educators will be her legacy. She is survived by her children Charles E. Dial and wife Lois K. Dial of Lenoir City, Mary Frances Dial Pfadenhauer and husband Philip C. Pfadenhauer of Cookeville, and James R. Dial and wife Gail Hassler Dial of Cookeville; her grand children Natisha Morin and husband Travis Morin of Knoxville, Harry Bennett III "Trey"� and Christie Marie Bennett, Shawn P. Pfadenhauer, Rob Ring and wife Shannon Ring of Cookeville; and great grandchildren Ella Morin, Eli Morin, Zachery Morin and Heather Morin of Knoxville, and a host of nephews and nieces. Honorary pallbearers will be Great Grandchildren and Phillip Pfadenhauer. Active pallbearers will be David Funk, Travis Morin, Trey Bennett, Shawn Pfadenhauer, Rob Ring and Bobby Winningham. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6296.
