Dock S. Little, 87, departed from this life Friday, August 10, 2018 at Bailey Manor Assisted Living in Cookeville. He was born February 23, 1931 in Monroe, TN, to the late Huey and Nan Fletcher Little. A graduate of Livingston Academy in 1950, Dock joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in France during the Korean Conflict as a Military Police Officer. He was Honorably Discharged in 1956. Upon his return from military service, Dock enrolled at Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (now Tennessee Tech) and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1960. After several years of employment with the Production Credit Association (PCA) in Byrdstown, Dock was employed with the Union Bank and Trust Company in Livingston, TN as a loan officer until his retirement. Dock was a member of the Rotary Club of Livingston, the Eagle Creek Masonic Lodge #530 for 60 years, and Shriners International. He was a dedicated member of Collegeside Church of Christ in Cookeville. An avid UT football fan, Dock was also a season ticket holder for many years. Dock was a warm person, with a pleasant attitude, a welcoming smile, and an outgoing personality. He was greatly loved by his friends and family and made an impression on everyone that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Gale Sadler Little, who he married January 21, 1996. Three children: David (Kim) Bartula of Rochester Hills, MI, Daniel (Angela) Bartula of Ootlewah, TN, and Julie Smalling (Robert) of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Ruth Brown of Cookeville and Geneva Crabtree of Alpine, TN; seven grandchildren Megan, Nathan, and Sadler Bartula, Rachel (Kevin) Salter, Andrew, Ethan and Aaron Smalling; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Johnnie West Little; five brothers, Ernest, Denny, Champ, Ray and Emitt Little, and a sister, Ninis Beaty. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston, & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Kelly Campbell, and Bro. Joe Roberts will officiate. Sharing in the service will be James Howard Robbins and Bob Stewart, nephews, and Susie Kennedy, niece. Pallbearers will be Andrew, Ethan, and Aaron Smalling, Nathan Bartula, Ralph Robbins, and Dale Beaty. Interment, with military honors, to follow at Overton County Memorial Gardens in Livingston. The family will receive friends Friday, August 24 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Masonic service will also be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N.
