A Celebration of Life and Visitation for Dolores Jean Langford, 86, will be held Tuesday, September 11, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville, Tennessee. Rev. Bill Stone, Pastor of Pastoral Care from the First Baptist Church, Cookeville, will lead a prayer service at 7:00 for family and friends. Then she will continue on her journey to be laid to rest at the Bellbrook Cemetery in Bellbrook, Ohio later in the week. Mrs. Langford passed away peacefully Friday, September 7, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Thursday June 9, 1932 in Centerville, Ohio to the late Orlo and Louise Reese of Spring Valley, Ohio. Mrs. Langford graduated from Centerville High School where she was head majorette and cheerleader. After graduating, she went on to work as an Administration Assistant at several businesses including National Cash Register in Dayton, Ohio. She married Robert E. Langford from Akron, Ohio in a ceremony during a huge snow blizzard in Bellbrook, Ohio in 1955 and shared 63 wonderful anniversaries together. Mr. and Mrs. Langford retired to Sparta, Tennessee in 1993, where they attended The First Baptist Church of Sparta, and then later moved to Cookeville, Tennessee in 2006 where they are currently members of The First Baptist Church in Cookeville. Both were very active in the church until Mrs. Langford's health began to prevent them from being involved as much as they would have wished. Mrs. Langford loved to sew, quilt, work on her computer, and cook, as well as watch TV shows about cooking and sewing. She had a wonderful, outgoing personality and never met a stranger. At one time, she was even a member of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Langford; daughter, Karen Langford, Cookeville; and son, Kevin Langford of Loudonville, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orlo and Louise Reese, Spring Valley, Ohio; her brothers Orlo (Janet) Reese, Jr., Bowie, Texas, and Charles (Sandy) Reese, Bradford, Pennsylvania; and sister, Eileen (John) Huffman, Michigan City, Mississippi. She is survived by her brother, Leroy (Connie) Reese, Kettering, Ohio; and two sisters, Carol (William) Kirnec, Centerville, Ohio, and Esther (Robert) Newman, Salida, Colorado; as well as fifteen nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
