Don Dwight Caperton

Funeral Services for Don. D. Caperton, age 72, of Cookeville, will be Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Don passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his home and surrounded by his family. He was born April 30, 1940 in Newport, Arkansas to the late Ollie Lynn Caperton and Willie Mae Vinson Caperton. Don was a member of the Knights Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and being out doors and also loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Caperton is survived by his wife, Paulette, one daughter, Donna Caperton of Cookeville and two sons; Alan L. Caperton (Robin) of Mt. Juilet, and David D. Caperton (Tonya) of Dekalb County. He is also survived by one brother, O.L. Caperton Jr. (Hazel) of Indianapolis, IN and two sisters; Alice Hohn of Jonesboro, AR and Betty J. Riley (Bo) of Tuckerman AR. In addition, Don leaves eleven grandchildren; Jared Caperton, Brady and Kolby Eady, Kaleb Stalcup, Derrick, Leah, Dustin, Brionca and Lybraun Caperton, Kessiah Hefflin and Zykira Caperton, as well as one great grandson, Bryson Caperton. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers; Kimberland Caperton and R.P. Caperton, and two sisters; Ressie Winchester and Helen Burnside. Pallbearers will be Dustin, Lybraun, Derrick, and Jared Caperton, Kaleb Stalcup, Roger and Alvin Riley and Jonathan Pierangeli. Bro. Mike Gillock will conduct the services.
