Funeral Services for Dorothy Juanita Hamilton, 87 of Sterling Heights, Mich .formerly of Baxter will be Sunday, Aug. 31 at 1 P.M. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Jim Rogers will officiate. Mrs. Hamilton died Monday, August 25, 2014 at St. John Macomb Oakland Hospital Center in Warren, Mich. She was born May 10, 1927 in Putnam County, TN to the late Bradley "BRAD" and Virgie Helms Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd "HOSS" Hamilton, sisters Buna Vinson and Gerema Anderson, brothers John Thomas Brown and Charles E. "JOE" Brown. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a former resident of Baxter and was a member and involved with the Baxter Senior Citizens. She moved to Michigan about seven years ago to be closer to her children due to health concerns. Survivors include 2 daughters Kathy Hamilton of Mendon, Mi, Linda Hamilton of Sterling heights, Mi., 2 sons and daughters-in-law James (Jan) Cashion of West Branch, Mi. , Jerry (Dolly) Hamilton of Sterling Heights, Mi., sister and brother-in-law Louise (Bob) Grimes of Baxter, brother and sister-in-law Houston (Dorothy) Brown of Union, Missouri, sister-in-law Ruby Blackwell of Warren, Mi. 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Saturday from from 4 to 8 P.M. and after 11 A.M. Sunday.
