Dortha Fitzpatrick Allison

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dortha Fitzpatrick Allison, age 89, of Cookeville, will be Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28 from Noon until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Allison passed Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born February 17, 1924 in Cookeville to the late Charles Scott Fitzpatrick and Hattie Lee Payne Fitzpatrick. Dortha worked for several years for Dr. Mike Huddleston. She enjoyed meeting and serving the public. She also loved gardening and working in her flowers. Mrs. Allison was a member of the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in Sparta TN. Dortha is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joan Allison of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Kimberly Miller (Husband Bill)of Smyrna TN and Amy McGuire (Husband Brian)of Rockvale TN. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Makenna Miller and Rylee McGuire; two brothers, Jack W. Fitzpatrick of Elmwood TN and Joe Ralph Fitzpatrick (wife Carlene)of Hermitage TN; one sister, Jean Fitzpatrick Apple; and one sister-in-law, Willene Fitzpatrick of Oak Ridge TN. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Allison Sr.,her son, John Robert Allison II; one brother, Charles Morgan Fitzpatrick, and one brother-in-law, Frank Apple.
