Edna Gore

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Huddleston Gore, age 98 of Algood, will be held at 1 p.m Friday September 11 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Justin Grant will officiate. Interment will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. Due to COVID precautions, social distancing measures will be observed and face masks are required. Edna passed away Tuesday September 8, 2020 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. She was born September 18, 1921 in Louisville, KY to the late Clarence Huddleston and Bertha Swallows Huddleston. She was a member of Church on the Hill and charter member of Algood First Baptist Church. Ever optimistic, Edna loved her family, church, and all her dear friends she made during her long life. She always looked for the good in everyone. She is survived by two sons, Harold (Reba) Gore, and Gerald (Rose) Gore; daughter, Brenda (Cordell) Richardson; grandchildren, Wayne (Kelly) Gore, Lynne (Jessica) Gore, Angie (Jimmy) Harville, Nikki (Keith) Morrison, Jerry (Melissa) Gore, Rhonda Gore, and Billy Gore In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, William Roy Gore, who passed away in 2014; three infant siblings; daughter, Anna Ruth Gore; two sons, Walter and Kenneth Gore; and beloved sister, Edith Richmond. Family will serve as pallbearers. The Gore family wants to thank special in home caregivers, Treva Oakley and Angel Ramsey. They were wonderful to our mom. Also, thank you to all the wonderful nurses and staff at Signature Health Care. Words can' t express our gratitude for the love and compassion shown to our mother.
