Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Anderson Schmid, age 93 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Bro. John Nichols will officiate. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Schmid died Friday January 24, 2020 at Bailey Manor of Cookeville. She was born May 18, 1926 in the Willow Grove community of Clay County, TN to the late J.T. and Callie Marcom Anderson. Elizabeth will be remembered for her beautiful smile, a smile that shown most brightly upon seeing her family that she so dearly loved. She was a gifted homemaker who excelled in sewing, cooking and baking. She loved being on the go. She has attended Collegeside Church of Christ since moving to Cookeville in 2008. In addition to her parents Mrs. was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gordon Schmid; and by brother, James Michael Anderson. She is survived by her adoring family, her sons, Smitty (Janie) Schmid, of Cookeville, Marc (Sonja) Schmid of Clarksville and Luke (Tammy) Schmid of Baxter; grandchildren, Tyler (Rebecca) Schmid, Jamie (Ashley) Schmid, Christian (Hillary) Schmid, Rachel (Chris) Cox, Rebecca (Joseph) Binghman , Lukas Schmid and Marcus (Halie) Schmid; great grandchildren, Bennett Schmid, Paisley Schmid, Paxton Schmid, Julian Schmid, Elliot Schmid, Claire Cox and Emma Rose Schmid; brother, William C. (Helen) Anderson of California; and by sister-in-law, Joyce Anderson of Prattville, AL. Mrs. Schmid's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Bailey Manor for the excellent care she received. Her grandsons and grandson-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
