Elizabeth Stasiewicz

September 18, 1925 — February 20, 2024

Elizabeth Theresa Stasiewicz, a woman of gentle kindness and unwavering faith, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 98 in Cookeville, TN. Born on September 18, 1925, in Jersey City, NJ to John and Agnus Burke McGuire, Elizabeth lived a life marked by love, dedication, and gentleness.

Elizabeth was a proud graduate of Commercial High in Jersey City. She dedicated 20 years of her life working as an assembly line worker for Western Electric in Kearney, NJ. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her faith. A long-standing member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Elizabeth's beliefs were the cornerstone of her existence.

In 1989, Elizabeth made the move to Cookeville, TN, to live with her daughter, Carol, and son-in-law Bob Faulhaber. Her life in the South was characterized by a series of new beginnings, as she and her family moved nine times before finally settling back in Cookeville in 2012. Throughout her time in Cookeville she attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where she was a cherished member of the congregation.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Agnus Burke McGuire; her husband, Edward Stasiewicz; and her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine Elizabeth Elia and Vincent Elia. Her legacy lives on through her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bob Faulhaber, of Cookeville, and Margaret and Richard Norman, of Archer, FL; her sister, Grace Mirocco of North Arlington; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

An avid reader, Elizabeth found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Her love of reading was matched by her devotion to her family and her unwavering Catholic faith. Those who knew Elizabeth were touched by her quiet nature, which was a reservoir of great strength and comfort to all around her.
