Funeral services for Eulene Brewington Holmes, 77 of Cookeville will be Wednesday, September 2 at 12 Noon with interment to follow in West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. Bro. Kevin Daughrity will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday after 10 AM until service time. The family requests all attendees to wear a mask due to COVID-19. Mrs. Holmes died Saturday, August 29, 2020 at her home. She was born November 5, 1942 in Cookeville to the late Lonnie Edward and Lula Mae Randolph Brewington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Dimple Coffey and Dorothy Brewington, brothers Riley and J.D. Brewington. She was a retired seamstress with General Motors Corporation and a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, dancing and was a friend to all who knew her. Survivors include daughters LuWanna Baggett of Louisville, KY, Tammy Alverson of Florida, Dana Gubics-Moss, Latecia Holmes, Alecia Holmes all of Michigan, son Shannon Holmes of Michigan, sisters Byrda Mae Steward of Maryland, Ventia "Tootsie" Dunn, Willene (Harold) Jackson and Judy Hoskins all of Cookeville, brother Jimmy (Susan) Brewington of Texas, grandchildren: Nick, C.J., Farley, Katie, Michelle, Jason, Brittany, Jimmy, Paige, Joshua, Ainea and Kiana, 17 great-grandchildren, special friends Gerldine "Jerry" Brown and Nancy Grosefeld, several nieces and nephews, and by her many "children" who called her "Moms" and "Nanny" in Michigan. Active Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Joshua Gubics, Ben Garrison, Jeff Jackson, Stuart Brewington, Cody Huddleston and Landon Rice. Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931)526-7158.
