Funeral services for Eva Lee Hudgens, 97, of Cookeville and formerly of the Shady Grove Community in Coffee County, TN will be held Thursday, June 9 at 11 am from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2 pm in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County. Bro. Kelly Campbell will officiate. Mrs. Hudgens family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 "� 8 pm and again Thursday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Hudgens died Sunday June 5, 2011 at Life Care Center of Sparta. She was born March 25, 1914 in Warren County, TN to the late William Oscar and Jessie Lynn Tosh. Mrs. Hudgens was a member of Collegeside Church of Christ and former member of Smyrna Church of Christ. She enthusiastically volunteered for different ministry work through the church. She was a homemaker and member in the Shady Grove Home Demonstration Club prior to moving to Cookeville. She was a longtime volunteer at Cookeville Regional Medical Center with over 26 years and 5,800 hours of service. Mrs. Hudgens hobbies included fishing, flower gardening, cooking and enjoying her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Leighton Smith; her second husband, Elmer Joe (Red) Hudgens; two brothers, Enoch and Emmitt Tosh; and two sisters, Ruby Argo and Velma Edwards. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Chrystal Smith of Cookeville; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Frank Housley of Buffalo, KY; two grandchildren, Leighton and Leslie Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the CRMC Auxillary. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Road Church of Christ-Helpers in Missions, 2221 East Memorial Road, Edmond, OK 73013. Please put Eva Hudgens Memorial Fund on memo line.
