Funeral services for Evelyn Holloway, 85 of Cookeville will be Wednesday, January 18 at 1 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Holloway passed away Monday morning, January 16, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 1, 1931 in Putnam County to the late James Willie "WILL" and Sallie Bohannon Lee. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law Roger Dale and Sue Holloway, great-grandson James Paul Holloway, sister and brother-in-law Juanita and Leonard McCloud, brother Dock Lee, brother-in-law Bennie Roberson. She was a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and her church family. She loved cooking, gardening, being with family and friends and helping others. She retired from McCord-Winn and also worked at Ashleys Clothing and at City Square Café. Survivors include husband of 68 years L.D. Holloway of Cookeville (Married April 14, 1948 in Rossville, GA), daughter Wilma Brown of Algood, sons and daughter-in-laws Freddie and Janet Holloway of Algood, Eddie and Kim Holloway of Cookeville, sister Alene Roberson of Rickman, brother and sister-in-law Johnnie Alfred and Zenobia Lee of Cookeville, grandchildren: Kevin (Lisa) Holloway, Jennifer (Mark) Flatt, Kim (Kenny) Dyer, James (Lee) Holloway, Jason Holloway, Lindsay (Hethe) Dyer, Levi (Holly) Holloway, Crystal (Daniel) Odom, Niki Shoulders, great-grandchildren: Josh, Dillard, Melissa, Jesse, Matthew, Makayla, Zach, Max, Randi, Ashley, Davie May, Quinn, Milly Grace, Olivia and Allison, great-great-grandchildren: Campbell, Scarlett, Karley, Lilly, Aria and Rylan, host of nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Bro. Nolan Cantrell and Bro. Charles Todd will officiate. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
