Finis Mcbroom

Funeral services for Mr. Finis Alvin McBroom, 94, of Cookeville will be held Thursday, January 26 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Mark Gaw will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. McBroom died Monday afternoon, January 23, 2012 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born February 19, 1917 in Putnam County, TN to the late William Hopp and Essie Pearl Rodgers McBroom. Mr. McBroom attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church. He was an U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired barber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lee McBroom, a son, Gary Wayne McBroom and ten brothers and sisters. Mr. McBroom is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tommie and Earl Flynn of Hermitage, TN; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
