Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Frances Wilmoth, 92 of Lexington, Kentucky and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Saturday January 18 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Shipley Cemetery. Bro. Buddy Johnson will officiate. Mrs. Wilmoth died Tuesday evening January 14, 2014 in Sayre Christian Village Nursing Home in Lexington. She was born November 12, 1921 in Cookeville, TN to the late Walter Whitley and Ethel Mae Stout Shipley. During World War II she worked In Detroit, Michigan to help make bombers. She later served as a cook on riverboats on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers and worked at Plateau Mental Health Center in Cookeville. She was a long-time member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Owen Wilmoth; son, Frank Richard Wilmoth; granddaughter, Ann Marie Wilmoth; and three brothers, Alvin L. (Slim) Shipley, Walter K. (Kenneth) Shipley, and Harold E. (Brandy) Shipley. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Rose Marie Wilmoth of Lexington; two granddaughters, Tracy Michelle (Greg) Hetman of Lexington, and Sarah June Wilmoth of New York, NY. Mrs. Wilmoth's family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
