Funeral services for Frederick "Fred" Waldo Leverett, 86 of Baxter, will be Tuesday, September 1 at 3 PM at Dyer funeral Home. Interment with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard will be in Nash Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday after 1 PM until service time. Mr. Leverett died Saturday, August 29, 2020 at his home. He was born April 6, 1934 in Carrier Mills, Illinois to the late David Waldo and Mary Alice Arnold Leverett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby LaFever Leverett, and a daughter Brenda Hendry. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years, serving as C119 mechanic. He was a retired Fork Lift Operator with General Motors Corporation in Pontiac, Michigan. He was a member of Nash Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters Karen (David) Carter of Baxter, Phyllis (Simon) Carter of Florida, sister Jean Leverett and brother Jerry Leverett both of Stone Fork, Illinois, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
