Gail Henderson

Funeral services for Sylvia Gail Henderson, 75, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, October 6, at 3 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Bro. Bill Sowder and Bro. Edward Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Henderson died Monday afternoon, October 1, 2012 at her home after fighting Cancer since November 2008. She was born October 28, 1936 in Algood, TN to the late Alfred Algood and D.M. Kuykendall. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Cullum Church of Christ where her husband Matt was the evangelist before retiring. Her interest and hobbies included sewing and needlework, quilting, stained glass, various types of crafting, decorating and golf. She is survived by her husband, James M. "Matt"� Henderson of Cookeville (whom she married April 24, 1954 in Rossville, GA); two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Stephen Walker of Lutz, FL and Sara and Edward Smith of Paris, TN; six grandchildren, Andrew and Joel Walker, Philip, Abigail, Hannah and Paige Smith; one great grandchild, Reed Andrew Walker; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Walter Drake of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Carol Kuykendall of Medina, TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
