Funeral services for Lela Geneva Gaw, age 75 of Cookeville, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday August 30 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral. Bro. Dow Allen and Bro. Ron Allen will officiate. Interment will follow at Browns Mill Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. until service time. Geneva passed away Sunday August 28, 2022 at her home. She was born November 29, 1946 in Putnam County, TN to the late Grady Wooten and Effie Jo Pinkston Wooten. Geneva was retired from Russell Stover Candies. She was a member of United Freewill Baptist Church in Cookeville She is survived by two daughters, Kim (Bob) Arthur of Clinton, TN and Tina Gaw of Shelbyville, TN; sister, Bonnie L Allen of Cookeville; grandchildren, Beth Arthur (Clint Daniels), Michael Arthur (Autumn Lindsay), and Tyler (Danielle) Swindell; great grandchildren, Peyton and Riley Daniels, Grayson Arthur, Paige and Brooke Swindell, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Ruth Allen and Louise Isom. The family sends a special thank you to Avalon Hospice and to Lori Griggs and her caregiver staff, Lisa, Vanessa, Kaylyn and Kayla.
