Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Edgar Phillips, Jr., 87, of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, October 10 at 1 p.m. at Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home and Wednesday 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Phillips died Sunday evening, October 7, 2012 at Life Care Center of Sparta. He was born January 12, 1925 in Putnam County, TN to the late Harvey Edgar and Ovella Ford Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a long time member and elder of Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a former truck driver with Mason-Dixon Trucking Company. He was former owner of Broadway Service Station. From 1969 until his retirement in 2004 he owned and operated Park Village Exxon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Foutch Phillips, two sons, William Michael "Mike"� Phillips and James "Jimmy"� Harvey Phillips, one brother, Ottis Phillips and a sister, Opal Stuck. Mr. Phillips is survived by his daughter-in-law, Judy Phillips of Cookeville and two grandchildren, Amy Fisk and husband Tyler and Jimmy Phillips. Active pallbearers will be all Elders of Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The members of the Upper Room Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
