Mrs. Hudson died Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born November 23, 1949 in Huntsville, TX to George Edward and Jerry Peden Hill. A few years later, her family moved to Mississippi and resided in Holly Springs. Haven was active in her high school years and participated in 3 sports. She received the athletic award, was homecoming queen, drum majorette, and vice-president of her class. She met her husband, Dr. Toney Hudson, while in nursing school at Baptist Hospital. They married May 1, 1971 and celebrated 49 years of marriage together. They moved to Cookeville in 1976. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in the coronary care unit in Memphis. She worked as an oncology nurse at her husband's internal medicine practice. Haven was a member of the founding board of Young Life of the Upper Cumberlands and was a founding volunteer at the Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic. She was also an instrumental part of the first Teen Challenge program started under the leadership of Judge Bill Baird Griffith. Haven had a strong faith in Jesus and she had a heart for people. She also participated in the Mrs. Tennessee beauty pageant. She was always interesting in the details of the lives of others around her and loved fiercely. She was the greatest fan of her husband and was a prayer warrior for her family. She logged many hours over the years at sporting events, chorus concerts, and all activities her children and grandchildren were involved in. Haven was very competitive and loved adventure. She enjoyed traveling, canoeing, playing games and cards, and spending time with her family and friends. A Bible verse she clung to was Micah 6:8. "He has shown me what is good. What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jerry Hill. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Dr. Toney Hudson; daughter, Shawn (Michael) Detwiler, sons, Heath (Joyelle) Hudson and Seth (Jennifer) Hudson, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Kelsey (Drew) Hawkins and great grandson Judah, Mary Katherine and Levi Detwiler, Eli, Isabelle and Noah Hudson; Olivia, Macy, Palin, and Lexie Hudson; brothers, Byron (Janet) Hill of Holly Springs, MS and Johnny (Linda) Hill of Oxford, MS, and sister Cathy (Robert) Morgan of Vicksburg, MS.
