Graveside service and interment for Mrs. Helaine "Cookie" McAlonan, 71 of Burns, TN formerly of Cookeville, will be Monday, July 23 at 11 AM at Cookeville City Cemetery. Rabbi Mike Mahan and Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate. Mrs. McAlonan died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at her home in Burns, TN. She was born Sunday March 2, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Irvin and Alice Brand Milstein. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John George McAlonan. She attended a community college in Long Island, N.Y. where she received degrees in English and Arts and Design. She was a retired secretary with the county attorney office in Nassau County, N.Y. with 30 years of service. She attended Burns Church of God. She was very involved in Alzheimer's Awareness in New York and Cookeville. She had received many awards with her job. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law John George, III and Brandi McAlonan of Long Island, N.Y., granddaughter Maryssa McAlonan, grandson Myles McAlanon, several cousins, special friends Michael and Deborah Threet of Burns, TN.
