Hubert Neil Sharp

NEIL SHARP BAXTER-Funeral services for Hubert Neil Sharp, 76 of Baxter and formerly of Old Hickory, will be Thursday, November 19 at 11 AM at Boma First Church of God. Bro. Troy Withers will officiate. Interment will be at 2 PM at Hermitage Memorial Gardens in Hermitage, TN. The family will receive friends at the church, Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and Thursday from 9 AM until service time. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mr. Sharp died Monday, November 16, 2020 at his home. He was born November 8, 1944 in Nashville to the late Murray and Mary Frances Gleaves Sharp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Sandra Faye Stewart Sharp, daughter Penny Lynn Jackson. He was a member of Boma First Church of God. Neil was a retired truck driver with Old Hickory Lumber Company. He was a professional athlete. He played minor and major league baseball with the Dublin Braves, Norcross Braves and later with the Milwaukee Braves. Survivors include daughter Tammy ( Kerry) Wilson of Baxter, sons Bro. Tim (Theresa) Sharp of Cookeville and Shane (Genita) Sharp of Mt. Juliet, sister Ella Dawn Withers of Hermitage, grandchildren: Cody and Chris Franklin, Brittney Lindsey, Zachary Jackson, Jacob and Brady Sharp and Ashlee Ray, 5 great-grandchildren.
