Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Malone, age 90 of Cookeville, will be held Monday September 29 at 1 p.m. at Cookeville Life Church with Pastor Bobby Davis and Pastor David Corley officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Malone died Friday morning September 26, 2014 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 10, 1924 in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late Millard and Della Barlow Masters. Mrs. Malone was a homemaker and a member of Cookeville Life Church. She always put her family first and was a woman of grace and virtue. She loved canning, cooking, quilting and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. W. J. Malone and five brothers and six sisters. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jim Duerr of Brentwood; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jo Malone, Ronnie and Trudy Malone all of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Nannette Brown, Gina Brown, Jeremy Malone and Shawn Malone; two great grandchildren, Carson Brown and Auguste Brown; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pearl and Don Ford of Dayton, Ohio and Lula Mae Hawkins of Cookeville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Malone's family will receive friends at Cookeville Life Church Sunday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until service time.
