Funeral services for Mr. Jack Warren Craig, age 79 of Cookeville, TN and former long-time resident of Rochester, MI, will be held Wednesday December 31 at 4 p.m. (CST) at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Danny Hembree will officiate. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1 p.m. (EST) at The Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery of Rochester Hills, MI. Rev. Dwayne Kelsey will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until service time in the cemetery chapel. Mr. Craig was born June 29, 1935 in Royal Oak, MI to the late Sam and Bessie Sells Craig. He died suddenly Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He attended Rochester High School and proudly served his county in the United States Navy. He was employed as a Supervisor for 32 years at General Motors. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he enjoyed shooting sports and deer and elk hunting trips to Montana. He was a lifelong gun enthusiast, owning a home gun shop while in Rochester. He was a proud life member and benefactor of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Mertz. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Norma Lou Moore Craig; son, Michael (Michele) Craig of Rochester; grandchildren, Alex, Andy and Katy Craig; great grandchildren Aiden and Jax Craig; brother, Kenny (Phyllis) Craig of Van Buren, MO; sister, Janet Marshall of Troy, MI; son in law, Chuck Mertz; dear friends, Michael and Mary Griffith of Macomb, MI; and by his wife's family whom he dearly loved, especially his niece, Jenna Kate.
